August Foodie Pen Pal Reveal

Today is the day!!!

foodiepal stamp2 Foodie Penpals

I have been waiting patiently for this day to come. It’s not easy trust me. I am so impatient plus this is so fun and exciting. I decided to join foodie penpal started by Lindsay from The Lean Green Bean.

I got paired with Kate Bretzke, who’s not a blogger. She was so nice and when she emailed me to ask what I like :). I said :

Surprise me :). I am easy. Don;t have any food allergic..I do allergic to grasses and trees lol. I chooses staying indoor than Allergy shots.
I like trying new things, food wise, I like spicy stuffs. Originally from Indonesia. Dark chocolate is my fave. Green tea, coffee, spicy stuffs, i have to say it twice lol. Does that help?
She said she had some ideas already when she emailed me. And boy she was not kidding lol.
When I open the box the first time, I was amaze on how neat she packed them all up in that box. I have to learn from her about packing stuffs. I ended up sending mine in a huge box to Tess fromCross Country Cajun.
Here you go the first look of the box I received:
First thing I tried was the little package of caramel, which turned out to have a kick to it. My 6 years old tried a little bite and said it’s good and then he got  a pretty big bite. I had a little bite. 5 seconds later he was jumping up and down asking for water. The Caramel was spicy towards the end. Interesting for me, not fun for him. I like it actually. It’s sweet, salty then ended with the spicy part.
I have not try these stuffs but will do on this 3 days weekend we have.
This is the bomb! I was so scared to try it since it has the warning!!! So I took it to work and made my boss well, did not force him to do this, I asked him politely if he dare to try this. And he said yes and ate a big chunk of it. Since he did that, I thought it must not be bad. So I had a little piece. and walked back to my office. Again towards the end then I started feeling the heat, my nose was sweaty. Then I heard him walking to the kitchen and said ” wow it’s pretty darn hot” LOL..the other girls came in to try 3 of them could not handle it. 2 of them spitting it out. It’s Dark chocolate with Ghost chili in it. My 6 years old so tempted to try so he took a tiny piece and just licked it. The next thing I saw was him drinking lots of water lol. That chocolate is awesomely HOT! The warning was not a joke.
I really like this package I got. It’s really interesting and fun. So much fun that I signed up for the next one.
Now if you are interested to join this fun adventure of foodie pen pal, here is the detail:

Here’s a detailed explanation of the program:

-On the 5th of the month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.
-You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!
-The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treatsThe spending limit is $15The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!
-You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)
-Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you can choose to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.
– Foodie Penpals is open to US, Canadian residents & UK residents.  Please note, Canadian Residents will be paired with other Canadians only. We’ve determined things might get too slow and backed up if we’re trying to send foods through customs across the border from US to Canada and vice versa. So, I’m going to keep two separate lists and match US w/ US and Canada w/ Canada!

***If you’re in the UK, please contact Carol Anne from This Is Rock Salt at rocksalt@thisisrocksalt.com to get involved!
