Yeyyyy it’s finally here. As usual it is hard for me to wait this long. But I did it. I think this foodie pen pal program taught me one thing that has been a weakness for me. Waiting. Yes I am impatient ;). I am learning..I am learning…. getting there sooner or later.
Lindsay from the Lean Green Bean who started this program, with help with one of the friend had created several new logo to celebrate the 1st year of Foodie Pen Pal program. It’s really cute. I can’t decided on which one to use and had to get my son to help me choose.
Ok this time I have to send to Elizabeth Elkins, who is not a blogger but we have added each other on facebook. This is what she said on her facebook today on the reveal day, I have asked her permission to copy paste the picture and her message on my blog for reveal today.

Carrie Shanks Was my giver from Texas! This is the yummy box I got 🙂 Thank you Carrie it was all AH MAZING!
Glad she likes them 🙂 I have been eyeing her and her kitchen creation. She is amazing!.It’s really fun getting to know so many more amazing people from all over the states. She is definitely one of them.
Now is my time to reveal mine. I have gotten the chance to know Mia from the thechroniclesofchaos. She had lots of interesting goodies for me.
Did you see that little turkey? My son had peeled it the minute I opened the box to peek. I told him it’s not chocolate he said it is chocolate, like my Easter bunny chocolate. I insisted it’s not and of course he insisted it is and had to proof it to me by peeling the wrapper a little :). We save it in the fridge for closer to gobble gobble day!.
It is amazing how for the second time of my Foodie Pen Pal that I have gotten stuffs that I like. I really appreciate that my pen pal takes time to finding out what I like and dislike and shop around to gather stuffs, amazing stuffs, that they think I might like from the very short description we shared with each other. When you do things with your heart you will be at your best.
Everything was good! The only thing I have not try is the sweet potato pancake mix.
I am planning to try it this weekend. Gonna make brown sugar syrup to go with it. So can’t wait! and it’s only Monday..wait again :).
Again if you have not join this program, here is the detail:
-On the 5th of the month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.
-You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!
-The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats! The spending limit is $15. The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!
-You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)
-Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you can choose to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.
– Foodie Penpals is open to US, Canadian residents & UK residents.
Please note, Canadian Residents will be paired with other Canadians only. We’ve determined things might get too slow and backed up if we’re trying to send foods through customs across the border from US to Canada and vice versa. So, I’m going to keep two separate lists and match US w/ US and Canada w/ Canada!
***If you’re in the UK, please contact Carol Anne from This Is Rock Salt at rocksalt@thisisrocksalt.com to get involved!
Yay, I’m glad you and your son enjoyed the goodies. As you can see, I’m a bit obsessed with Fall and pumpkin stuff… 🙂 It was great being your partner!
